This is a debate between Rabbi Schmuley Boteach (bow-tay-ach) and Christopher Hitchens (id-ey-aht) that took place at the 92nd Street YMHA (Young Men’s Hebrew Association) in New York City on 30 January 2008.
Rabbi Boteach is an ordained Rabbi, an author, a radio host, and the host of TLC’s Shalom in the Home.
Christopher Hitchens is a renowned atheistic author and, arguably, the most witty and arrogant member of what has been dubbed “The New Atheism.” As much as I disagree with his work (here is my brief review of one of his book) and cringe when I hear him speak, I enjoy listening to him.
The debate is interesting. Rabbi Boteach is definitely passionate, which I appreciate. Let me know what you think.
Disclaimer: Hitchens drops the F bomb a few times. So if you are watching this around children, you might want to put on headphones.
