It’s strange how the Christian holiday of Easter corresponds more closely to Purim than to Passover on our calendars this year. Those crazy vernal equinoxes.

Instead of getting all dressed up and looking like the strangest goyim on the block, I decided to celebrate Purim by reading the story of Esther and also saying the Al HaNissim for Purim after my meals today. It is interesting that the beginning of the Al HaNissim is the same for both Purim and Channukah because both deal with great miracles that God has done for the Jewish people.

johnson on contextualization


In case your firewall blocks rants by fundamentalists with their panties in a bunch, I thought I’d point you towards Phil Johnson’s post on contextualization. Apparently Johnson doesn’t like the word and so he is dead set on ranting and raving about how stupid the word is and how it leads to liberalism or some other tired mantra that he continually barks about.
