Tim Keller’s new book, The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism is now available to order at Westminster’s bookstore.
I waited outside in the rain until the bookstore opened at 12:00…and then I bought 4 copies. One for my room, one for my bathroom, one for my car, and one for Liz. I’m not kidding…I really bought 4 copies.
Newsweek has an interesting article on Keller and the book.
Tony posted links to some sermons that are related to the book that are available for free download. Definitely check them out.

Hey, good reading for the bathroom is essential!

My thoughts exactly Jake! It’s important to be discerning when choosing bathroom reading. For instance, when I was reading Hitchens and Dawkins in the bathroom I had to constantly fight the temptation of using the pages as toilet paper. I guess that wouldn’t have changed the inherent content of the pages, but it might have been a bit uncomfortable.

It’s true. Discernment is important. I use it as an opportunity to read things that I want to, not all stuff for school. My latest read has been Abraham Kuyper’s The Problem of Poverty. I might just have to pick up Keller’s book and it make it my next read there.

Art,
You may have the distinction of being the first person who ever waited in line (in the rain no less!) for our store to open to be the first to get a particular book.
Was there a line? Did you sit outside in a lawn chair all night?
Seriously, we sold out of our initial stock in eight hours. Dutton is overnighting us 100 copies for tomorrow, and we have several hundred more arriving on Friday. This is already the biggest one day sale of any title in recent memory for us.

Mark: I was thinking of bringing a grill and having a little tailgate party, but it’s Lent so I’m not eating meat and you can’t bring beer on campus…so that kind of defeats the point of tailgating!!
I was seriously worried that they were going to be sold out before I got in there. I wanted to get some extra copies for presents.
I think Micah laughed at me when he went to open the door…not that I blame him!

My husband ordered a copy from Amazon a while ago. Guess I’ll be seeing it soon.
