Mark Driscoll’s theologically equipping ministry called Resurgence just announced the release of Re:Greek which is a revamped version of zhubert.com. Zack Hubert, the founder of zhubert.com, recently came on board at Mars Hill as the Pastor of Technology, which explains how zhubert.com came under the umbrella of Mars Hill.
If you always wanted to learn Greek or look up Greek words, but didn’t have the software, then you will love this. You can search by verses or words in both the Greek and English texts. When you are dealing with the Greek text, every word is hyperlinked to a nice pop-up box which includes the lemma, parsing, and gloss for the Greek term. The glosses are helpful because they are based on the parsed form of the Greek word. For instance, for “baptidzo” (verb) the gloss is “I baptize” while for “baptistns” (participle) is “one that dips: a baptizer” even though they both have the same lexical form.
I think this will be very helpful for those who do not own Bible software or for those who own Bible software but can’t figure it out. Now I just need to pray for a Re:Hebrew or Re:Midrash website that is as user friendly as this one is!

Before going to Accordance I used zhubert freuently, but one thing I disliked was its use of LSJ for NT Greek. It seemed a lot of the glosses weren’t necessarily in context.
Off topic, but are you familiar with David Instone-Brewer’s work TRENT (Traditions of the Rabbis from the Era of the New Testament)? Seems like it would be right up your alley, research-wise. Vol. I is out and Vol. IIa is due to be released soon. You can preview Vol. I on one of his sites: http://www.t-r-e-n-t.com

Rick: Great call. I just looked them up on Amazon after previewing it on his sight. They are definitely added onto my wish list and I just put it on hold at the library. I’ll be checking it out tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!
